Transferring into CJPP

Join the exciting study of Criminal Justice and Public Policy (CJPP)! This interdisciplinary program between the Department of Sociology and Anthropology and the Department of Political Science investigates the links between crime, law, public policy, and social and criminal justice. Our faculty and students are passionate about working to improve life through a critical understanding of the Canadian legal system, all while building a solid foundation for a career in the criminal justice system.

Transfer Requirements for U of Guelph Students Currently Enrolled in a Different Degree Program

Students currently enrolled in a different U of Guelph BA degree program who are interested in transferring into the CJPP major may apply to the CJPP competitive transfer process.

Students currently enrolled in a non-BA degree program must first complete an internal transfer then apply to the CJPP competitive transfer process.

Transfer Requirements for Students Transferring from Other Institutions 

Students from other institutions interested in transferring into CJPP can apply to transfer directly into the program through the external transfer process outlined on the Admission Services website.

Students from other institutions who transfer into a different BA degree program at the University of Guelph and wish to join the CJPP program must apply through the CJPP competitive transfer process. The CJPP competitive transfer process requires students to complete the a set list of U of Guelph courses with a minimum cumulative average of 70% before they apply to transfer. If external transfer students are granted credit for one or more of the courses, then they must attain a cumulative average of 70% or better in the remaining courses to be eligible to apply to transfer.
